How to unlock your phone if you have forgotten your MI account password? (Manual Verification Process for MI account)



Manual Verification:

 

Objective- This article is used when customer’s contact number is not working and wants to change the contact number in existing Mi account.

 

Important Points: 

  • Customer should be aware of previous contact number or Email ID.
  • Customer will get the notification on the new number within 3 working days, once request isreceived.
  • Recovery email will be de-registered from the account and customer need to add it again.
  • Customers order history will be available after changing the contact number.
  • Reward points, messages, coupons will also be available as per your account.
  • Customer needs to reset the password through reset link which will be received on new number afterthe verification.
  • Customer has to re-login on all the Xiaomi services, where it is logged in with the same Miaccount.
  • Security questions will be removed from Mi Account.
  •  

Please perform below steps for manual verification:

1. Visit https://account.xiaomi.com

2. Select Forgot Password

3. Enter any of the following credentials (Registered contact number/email ID/Mi ID) that you remember.

4. Select “Reset your recovery phone”.

It will show you the registered contact number, Email ID and Mi ID.

5. Click on "Get started" if you want to proceed for contact number change.

6. Enter new phone number which needs to be linked with your Mi account.

7. After entering phone number, select “Send verification Code”.

8. Enter the verification code which you have received on your new phone number and click on “Submit”.

9. Please enter the phone & the device model if you are using any Xiaomi phone and the IMEI of the phone.

10. Can skip the IMEI number section by selecting “Cant provide this info” but this may lead in longer approval time.

11. Click on "next" after selecting Mi account and entering IMEI number.

  • Here customer needs to provide few details such as:

  • When was account created.

  • Previous used password.

  • Services used like- Xiaomi Cloud, Mi Store, Mi.com, Mi community.

  • Click on “submit" after providing all the details.

Once the request is approved customer will get the confirmation message on new number along with the password reset link.

Customer needs to change the password through the mentioned link and new phone number will be associated with Mi account.

 

After successful verification of provided details, new mobile number will be linked with your existing Mi Account.
