How to resolve if touchpad of your Xiaomi/Redmi/MI Laptop is not working?

TOUCHPAD NOT WORKING AT ALL

 

If any customer complaining about Touchpad not working, please follow below steps.

  1. Press F12/F9 hot key (3-4 sec) to make sure Touchpad is in Enable Status.

It has been noticed that customers are pressing F12/F9 key accidentally and because of this Touchpad is getting disabled.

Horizon Edition – Use F9 Key

Other Models – Use F12 Key

 

  1. Need to check if the Touchpad is not disable in the Settings -

    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad > Turn ON “Touchpad”

 

 

  1. If the Touchpad is not working only when the mouse is connected then-

    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad > Turn ON “Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected”

 

 

  1. Check Touchpad device (driver) status in device manager, it should exist and in normal working status.

    1. Press Windows + X > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > Check for the drivers

 

If it is not found in device manager, the device should have some hardware problem.

If it has yellow mark, try to update driver through internet by right clicking them. If Touchpad is still not working post updating the driver, maybe it has hardware problem.
