How to Unlock Bootloader in Redmi, MI and Poco Phone?
INTRODUCTION:
A bootloader is an OEM-proprietary image responsible for bringing up the kernel on a device. It guards the device state and is responsible for initializing the Trusted Execution Environment
Xiaomi Bootloader Unlocking Procedure has been simplified and the permission will be granted automatically.
While using the Mi Unlock Tool waiting Period (May vary from user to user) and other instructions will be directly displayed there.
After the device is unlocked, it becomes less secure and more vulnerable to malware attacks, which may lead to the disclosure and loss of your private data.
Some features which require high security level (e.g., Find device, added-value services, Netflix, etc.) will no longer be available.
PROCEDURE:
DOWNLOAD MI UNLOCK TOOL
To download Mi Unlock Tool, please visit:
Click on ‘Unlock Now’ button
Click on ‘Download Mi Unlock’ to download the application
Extract the File and Install it on your Windows System.
ENABLE OEM UNLOCKING
1. Enable Developer Options:
To Enable Developer Options, go to:
Settings > About Phone > Tap on ‘MIUI Version’ 7 times
2. Enable OEM Unlocking:
Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Turn on ‘OEM Unlocking’
3. Enable USB Debugging:
Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Turn on ‘USB Debugging’
ASSOCIATE MI ACCOUNT:
To associate Mi Account with your device:
Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status > Add account and Device
In case you see an error like 86012 etc wait for a week and try again
If you see an error ‘Connect to the Network and Try again’:
Ensure you have disconnected from Wi-Fi and Connected to Mobile Network
Logout the Mi Account from Device and Sign-in directly from Add device Page
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER STEPS:
To Check the Mi Unlock Status, go to:
Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Mi Unlock Status
Note:
1. Follow the timer/ waiting period shown in Mi Unlock Tool to unlock successfully.
2. After you've successfully bound your Mi Account, do not factory reset/ log out the approved Mi account from your phone. Otherwise, the timer will be reset and you will have to spend more time waiting again.
3. If you don't know much about Android, flashing, custom ROMs etc. It's not recommended for you to unlock the bootloader. It might cause serious damage to your device or personal data.
