How to Resolve Camera Not Working Issues in Redmi/MI/Poco Phone

Troubleshooting steps to fix if camera is not working

1. Ask which camera is not working (Front Camera or Rear camera)

2. Ask if the camera is not working in any third party app or in default camera app

  • If it is not working in third party apps, ask customer to enable permissions for camera if it's not done already
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Permissions > Permissions > Camera > Enable permissions for the apps that are not working due to permission issue

3. Ask if the camera is not opening or if the images taken are blur

4. Ask about the error message if any

5. Inform the customer to clear the data and cache of the camera app which helps to reset the settings of camera app.

  • Settings>> Apps>> Manage Apps >> Camera>> Tap on clear data > Select Clear all data/cache (clearing data will not erase data on Gallery/Album).
  • Launch the security app in your phone > Cleaner > After scan please select Clean up option.

6. After performing the above steps, check if the camera is working.
7. If the above steps fail, please ask the customer to perform a hardware test.

Open dialer>>Type *#*#6484#*#*>>select the camera that is not working, check if the camera is working.

  • If the Hardware test fails, ask customer to visit service Centre
  • If the camera is working fine in hardware test, then follow the below steps.

8. Ask the customer to take a back-up and factory reset the phone. Also, to transfer the backup files to an external device
